Been home for 6 hours. About time to write this. Highlights included:

  • Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral
  • Tour of New Providence Island
  • Being on the beach and in the warmth
  • Reading 6 books (3 J.G. novels and a re-read of Hunger Games series)
  • Our room steward was the friendliest person on the planet
  • Complimentary steakhouse dinner
  • Overhearing “Well balls, Miranda!” during dinner
  • Second City improv show was hilarious
  • Delicious food
  • Not having phone/internet/etc. access was relaxing
  • Actually having a breakfast (and pretty much gorging myself on food)

Points of interest:

  • Watching the same episode of cougar town 7 times because the TV was on a loop
  • The loud woman at the table next to us at dinner one night talking about how she still slept with a teddy bear (she was about 35)
  • Seeing people that resembled teachers such as: R. Torres, L. Crane, and H. Lawler
  • Very rocky seas equals very interesting to pass people in narrow corridors
  • Watching many episodes of the Kardashians

Things I realized I have a general disdain for:

  • Symmetrical buffets (seriously, buffets, like a good presentation, are linear)
  • Paisley

Overall one of the best trips (if not the best) I’ve ever taken, and as opposed to summer trips when I just felt “on vacation,” I felt in a completely different world this time. It was so not fun coming home, especially when we drove past the Bergen Acads on Rt. 4 West and I realized I have school tomorrow.
